I'm Tired

I’m tired of seeing so many people voice their opinions to the extreme. Just because you have an opinion doesn’t mean you have to share it with everyone. And it definitely doesn’t mean that you’re the only one who is right. The point of an opinion is that it belongs to you and it is not a universal fact that everyone else just hasn’t figured out yet. I don’t care about your super-specific-closed-minded opinion.

However, I do care about intelligent discussion. Where two or more people can calmly discuss a topic and share their opinions and be open to having their opinions questioned. This is a deeper more meaningful way to present your thoughts and ideas. Discussion is about learning more not forcing your opinions onto others. I may have an opinion about the existence, or lack there of, of God but I love to hear what others have to say about it. So I like discussing religion with the intent to hear what other people have to say. And not so I can try to force them to believe the same as I do.

This is what is wrong about a lot of social media platforms. People are trying to voice their opinion about these deep complicated issues through one sentence and these issues just aren’t made for a medium like the Internet. They need to be talked about in person so that you can read body language and gauge the tone of the conversation. This isn’t possible online. Maybe if everyone wrote an essay for every status, it might work better, but come on, like that’ll ever happen.

So please, stop posting your opinions. You’re not going to change anyone’s mind with one sentence so all you’re doing is wasting your time or starting an argument. Which I do think that some people want to start an argument and all I have to say about that is, grow up. We shouldn’t want to live in a world where every individual thinks their way is the only way. We should want to discuss these topics in person with the people close to us, so that we can develop and expand our minds. Not limit it to one view.

I don’t want to be tired anymore.

I want to be energized with the prospect of a better tomorrow.

End of rant.
